TCC Credit Courses
Workshops
TCC Credit Courses 2009
Three courses will be offered through Tarrant County College:
PHOTO II, EXPRESSIVE PHOTOGRAPHY, and DIGITAL IMAGING I
These courses emphasize documentary and street photography and expressive visual communication. They are designed to familiarize the participant with the traditions and techniques of these genres of the medium and to provide a forum for the discussion and practice of visual literacy. Because these are field courses, most of our time will be spent on the streets of cities, towns, and villages as we walk and look for ways to make our images. Walker Evans,
a noted photographer,
suggested that the camera takes on the personality of the holder, that “the mind works on the machine, or through it,” Working in the field and exploring new terrain will allow photographers to know a place by actually participating in it.
